大阪府富田林で作陶する岩崎さんの作品は、ろくろで作る器ならではのしなやかな曲線と、自ら研究を重ねてこだわりぬいた色彩が魅力です。

暮らしの中で使う器が自分の気に入ったもので毎日を過ごせたらどんな豊かな生活だろう。
僕自身も色んな作家さんのうつわを使っていてその都度その都度ものに触れてその器との出会いなど色んな記憶を思い出したり、改めて発見があったり、すごく豊かな気持ちになる。使うことで感じる物の力。
僕の器も使い手の中でそうあってほしいといつも思っています。
時に流れたり
時に溶けなかったり
時に膨らんだり
マットな質感や艶が部分的に出ることもある
釉薬ってほんとに難しいな
っていつも思ってます。
コントロールできる時はくるんだろうか
むしろ
コントロールできないのが良いのかもしれない。
その時その時の気持ちを大切に予定調和にならないように。はっとするようなものが焼き上がってくるとまた次の制作に俄然張り合いが出る。
そんな繰り返しの制作。次の制作のための現在の制作
ずっと続いていくんだろうと思います。

Features of Ryuji’s works are smooth curves rendered by a potter’s wheel and a moist texture of the surface.
In particular, the items covered by pale-colored petals may attract your attention.
Burnt in a kiln, granular oxidized metal circularly arranged on the white-glazed surface start melting and flowing over the surface.
“If you can spend the days with your favorite tableware and hand-made crafts, what a rich life it is! I use other artists’ works and they enrich my heart when to use them, recalling my memories, such as encounter with those works, and finding out new appealing elements. Their intrinsic value and power do not exert unless they are used. I always think that my works are like that too in the lives of the people who use them.
Anyway, glazing is never ending challenge for me. Beyond my control, glaze flows, melts (or not), and inflates. Matte texture and gloss come out partly. How difficult it is! Can I fully control it someday? On the other hand, however, it might be better that the day I can handle glazing will never come. It motivates me very much for further activities when sobering works, not as originally expected, come out from the kiln. I just want to be honest with my feelings from time to time.
I’m sure that such a succession of creative activities will be repeated – an activity now for activities in the future.”
