■ Classic Ko
蒔絵・漆ジュエリー / 石川県 Maki-e and Urushi Jewelry / Kaga Ishikawa
Classic/クラシック=古典的な、一流の、時代に左右されない、香（Ko）/コーとは、初代「大下雪香（せっこう）」より代々受け継がれる雅号であると同時にその人の美意識・感性を“香り”として纏う（まとう）という意味も込めています。
Classic Koは、伝統的な装飾技術、『蒔絵・漆』の手技を駆使しつつ、 現代に生きる人々の感性や感覚に訴える美しさを追求しています。
“Classic” means the greatest works of art, high quality and independence from the changes of the times.
“Ko” is the “gago” (pseudonym) used by the heads of the kobo from the first (Mr Sekko Oshita) to the fifth (current) generation (Mr Kosei Oshita). “Ko” also suggests a kanji (Chinese character) which means incense. As such, in this case, “Ko” is given a meaning that the head of the kobo should wear his own aesthetics and sensibility as his incense.
Taking advantage of traditional decorating techniques “Maki-e* and Urushi”, Classic Ko is pursuing beauty which attracts sensibility and feeling of modern people.
